To Intern or Not to Intern

As we approach the end of a very eventful year, we are sad to say goodbye to the last of our interns.

During the last year we have had the pleasure of welcoming some wonderful young talent to work with us at PAKT.

Our interns have come from all over the globe, from many different backgrounds and cultures. On any given day at PAKT, you could always hear Mandarin, Cantonese, English, Hindi and several European languages. We have worked hard to bring them in from diverse educational institutions, including some of the top names around:

The Hong Kong University
Hong Kong Polytechnic University
UC Berkeley
Emory College
Lund University
Harvard College

Some might say that running an internship programme is more of a ‘give back’ than a value-add to most businesses, and that you need to be a large, well established company in order to implement one successfully.

We do not agree. We are a start-up and so far, we have found that working together with our interns has provided us with valuable knowledge and insight into the younger generation allowing us to see things from interesting and new perspectives.

Any business, especially a consumer-facing one, must always keep an eye on the future and what are interns if not our future consumers?

Our internship program is by no means ordinary as at PAKT we try to ensure that everyone has the chance to make a real impact from the outset and to make them feel a valued part of our core team.

We are all passionate about what we do and hope that by working alongside us and helping us to achieve our goals, we can inspire the next generation to go out there and achieve their dreams of coffee-fuelled nights and hare-brained schemes.

So whether you are a student or an ambitious young graduate, if you are looking for a new experience, don’t just dip your toe, dive in and see what you can learn. All experience is good experience, and the smart ones among you will be able to apply it wherever you choose to go.

If you are looking for an internship beyond the norm, if you are interested to see what it is like to work in a start-up in the vibrant Hong Kong ecosystem, do not hesitate to get in touch.  We look forward to welcoming you to our internship programme.

In the meantime, you can follow us on our social media channels to get the latest company news and updates about our work.
